3 good reasons to give up meat and become vegetarian!

We all know that exaggerating with the consumption of meat isn't the best thing to do. However, consumed in large quantities, how much damage can it really make? Here are three reasons that could turn you into a vegetarian overnight.

"Skinny Bitch" is a book written by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnoiun  in the attempt to lead women to have a proper diet, balanced and healthy. In their view, that also means total renunciation off meat. And they come with three quite convincing arguments.

1. You can do kidney stones!

When you eat large amounts of animal protein and saturated fat but you don't eat whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, you don't reach the necessary fiber level to tie together all the toxins and fat in order to be removed from your body. Thus, your kidneys are primed to develop large stones, premature aging or even kidney failure. You have to work twice as hard to break down proteins and eliminate excess.
In a study made on 1,500 patients with diabetes, most of them have lost more than half of kidney function due to ingestion of large quantities of animal protein.

2. The meat we buy comes from animals and birds kept in squalid and unhealthy conditions.

"The chickens are crammed into cages so small that they can't even open their wings and their deformed feet grow almost around the wire mesh floor. This crowded environment determine the chickens to peck each other (...) They all live in misery caused by their own urine, feces and own vomit with infected and swollen wounds". So, to keep animals alive in these conditions, farmers must regularly shot the animals with antibiotics.
The two authors published the result of a study showing that half of the antibiotics produced every year in the U.S. are administered to animals on farms. These drugs are producing antibiotic resistance to those who eat the treated meat.
The authors of the book have listed the "ingredients" found in the chicken bought from the local store: hexaclorura benzene, chlordane, diclordifenil-trichloroethane, dieldrin, dioxin, heptachlor (...) "Maybe that's why meat consumption these days leads to obesity, liver or kidney failure, lung problems, reproductive dysfunctions, congenital malformations, miscarriages and diseases of the nervous system. "

3. We poison our body with pesticides !

"Meat contains 14 times more pesticides than vegetable foods, dairy products have 5 times more pesticides than foods of plant origin. Only U.S. annually uses 455,000 tons of pesticides. (...) Pesticides are often sprayed directly on animals to protect them from parasites, insects, rodents and fungi. In order to grow faster and larger, animals are given steroids and growth hormones. What happens to people who eat these "super animals"? Leaving aside the avalanche of medical problems on the adult population, many scientists attribute premature puberty in girls and a hall other range of specific teenage affections to the same steroids and growth hormones found in the majority of meat today.
